2022-04-13 | New flow depth maps comparing wind vectors from the surface to the 925 and 850 mb levels now available for Euro and American operational models. See ERCOT example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/ecmwf-suite/00z/ercot/308-near-surface-flow
2022-04-11 | New beta page that clusters tropical cyclone tracks globally from all three ensembles (American, European, Canadian), and shows downstream impacts from each cluster (500mb, precipitation, temperature). See examples here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/tropical-clustering/
2022-04-11 | StormVista's 80-meter wind maps now offers the option to change units to miles per hour. See examples here (change units in lower right). https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/gfs-suite/12z/misofocus/135-80-m-winds
2022-04-04 | SV just upgraded the organization of poly-panels, so you can now create customized lists of preferred collections. When choosing Modify Poly-Panels, you now have an option to create your own list names and then click/drag your choices to them to access different lists as needed. https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/4panels
2022-04-01 | New solar generation API model data available for CAISO and ERCOT. See information here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/api#solar
2022-04-01 | New StormVista CAISO and ERCOT solar generation pages with line charts and tables similar to wind generation. Find them under Features -> Renewables. Example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/solargen/2022040100z/ercot
2022-03-31 | New regional composite maps available for precipitation (1-5, 6-10, 11-15 day) with percent of normal, anomaly, and total QPF. Check out ERCOT example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/composite/38-qpf-anomaly/ercot
2022-03-24 | HIRES-ARW model now available on SV city spaghetti plots (example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/city-plots/tmp2m/KHOU/2022032400z), on precipitation matrix (example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/precip-matrix/pcptot/KHOU/2022032400z) and also available for download via the SV API (https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/api#city-extraction-short). Note: model is only available for 0z and 12z cycles.
2022-03-22 | You can find these models along with others on these pages now (under Features --> City/Region Plots): https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/city-plots
2022-03-21 | All-Ensemble mean click-on option is now available on the forecast teleconnection line charts on SV. We also offer a compare-cycle option for 12/0z runs. See example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/teleconnections/epo/2022032100z/all-ens-mean
2022-03-16 | New wind generation ensemble statistics page is now available under the Features and Renewables menu. See GFS ensemble example for ERCOT here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/windgen-stats/ercot/2022031612z/gfs-ens
2022-03-14 | New UKMet snow maps are added. See Midwest example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/ukmet/00z/midwest/120-snow-total
2022-03-14 | New daily 2-meter regional temperature anomaly map options are now added. See East PJM example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/ecmwf-eps-suite/00z/ma/84-daily-2-m-temperature-anomaly
2022-03-09 | New ICON-Global ensemble forecasts are now available on SV. This 40-member ensemble has less variables than the operational (no 850 or snow), but still features temperatures and other variables for a 180-hour period. See an example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/icon-eps-global/00z/ma/4-accumulated-qpf
2022-03-09 | The city forecast contingency tables on the ensemble statistics pages now feature an option at bottom of page to create your own thresholds for customized tables. This will allow you to look at ensemble-based probabilities for your own temperature or precipitation thresholds. For example, for the Washington DC snow chance on Saturday, March 12, you can set up your own snow thresholds for customized tables. You can make smaller tables with less thresholds and also re-arrange the order to make them look more like bar charts. Check it out at the bottom of the page here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/ensemble-stats/snow/KDCA/2022030906z/gfs-ens/
2022-03-08 | StormVista now enables its sketch tool for poly-panel pages. You can choose to sync (draw on one that simultaneously draws on all others) or unsync to just draw on one panel. Hit the sketch button under the time stamps to see: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/4panel/47-12z-gfs-ens-midday-500mb-850t
2022-03-04 | Starting with the 12z cycle today, Friday, March 4, SV has added three new variables to the medium range city forecasts for the SV API: wind direction, wind speed, and wind chill. https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/api#city-extraction
2022-03-03 | ICON Global model data added to SV city tables, temperature tracker, and api data feeds. https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/api#city-extraction
2022-03-03 | RTMA addition also includes 10-meter wind, extrapolated 80-meter wind, and extrapolated wind power potential production. See ERCOT example here: https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current/ercot/146-wind-power-production
2022-03-03 | NOAA's Real-Time Mesoscale Analysis (RTMA) added to Stormvista with multiple variables with US regional close-ups too. These update each 15 minutes (Live setting will auto-update, no need to refresh) with anomaly maps only updating at top of each hour. https://www.stormvistawxmodels.com/sv/model/rtma/current |
